Piché, Paul Amazon.ca Paul Piché était parti en voyage au fin fond de lui-même, avec ses mots, son carnet et sa plume pour seuls bagages. Le bourlingueur est revenu avec un neuvième album, Le Voyage, qui retrace sa quête dabsolu. Posé, contemplatif et humble, lartiste ne scande plus. "Jécris à ma hauteur / Je deviens qui je suis / Je vois la vie à ma hauteur", chante-t-il doucement, de sa chaude voix. Ses neuf chansons évoquent certes ses préoccupations personnelles, mais son discours nest pourtant pas dénué de critiques sociales. Si la verve poétique de Paul Piché demeure, les arrangements musicaux ont évolué. Ses vieux compagnons de route – Rick Haworth aux guitares, Claude Castonguay aux claviers et à la composition, et Pierre Duchesne à la basse et à la réalisation – lont néanmoins suivi dans ce périple où il emprunte tantôt aux rythmes latins (le succès "Ne fais pas ça"), tantôt aux sonorités électroniques ("Mauvais Calcul"). En rompant avec ses airs traditionnels après avoir délaissé la scène créatrice pendant six ans, et en enregistrant, de surcroît, une chanson de près de neuf minutes (la pièce- titre), Paul Piché prenait un risque.
