Among the highlights are Ron Trent's jumping remix of the New York-based Latin duo Batidos's "Tengo Sed," Bob Holroyd's remix of his own percussion-heavy extravaganza Drumming Up a Storm," Q-Burns Abstract Message's beat-heavy take on Hawke's "Party People," and mix master Jack Dangers's sleek reworking of the incomparable Banco de Gaia's sitar-driven "How Much Reality Can You Take." With the exception of Josh Wink spinning his wheels through Tweaker's aptly titled "Linoleum, all the tracks on Motion 2 are ideal for those seeking dance music with a light touch, leaving the heavy beats of techno and house behind for airier, more flexible approaches. --Carl Hann
